Fill a fairly narrow mouthed canning jar with what ever filler you prefer. You may use potpourri or any other filler you can think of. After the jar is filled, place the votive candle holder on top of the filling so that the tops of both jars are even. You may need to add or remove filler to make the jars even. Once the candle holder is in place, put the candle in the votive holder and then tie a ribbon around the canning jar. What you’ll have is a great homemade jar candle. You may either give your jar candles as gifts or keep them around your own home. Either way, you’ll feel proud that you created something so beautiful. Container candles or jar candles are a little more expensive than most other candles. They are designed to give out a strong scent. One jar candle can make an entire room in a house smell good. Burning scented candles as aromatherapy can help you relax and de-stress after a long hard day. Make sure the wax remains at least 160 degrees while your adding in the coloring and scent. Next cut the wicks to whatever length you would like your candles to be. Then dip the wicks into the wax. Take the candle wick out and allow it to cool. Then dip it back into the wax and take it back out again. Continue this process until your candle is the length you want it to be. Once the wax cools for the final time, you can then cut and scrap away the excess wax. The end result will be a homemade candle that you can enjoy. Another line of scents focuses on relaxation. These types of candles are especially good to burn while taking a leisurely bath. Popular scents under this type of candle are green tea, eucalyptus, and mint. About seventy-five percent of candles are scented. If you choose to go with a scented candle, you’re next decision will be what type of scent to buy. Tea lights are smaller than votive candles. They come in a small metal case. They burn inside a holder that is made to hold tea light candles. Votive candles are popular too. They are very small. They’re usually grouped together with other votive candles. Just like pillar candles, votives are usually scented.
