All you’ll need to make jar candles is: canning jars, votive candles, glass votive candle holders, ribbon or wire ribbon, craft glue and a filler such as potpourri. After the jar is filled, place the votive candle holder on top of the filling so that the tops of both jars are even. You may need to add or remove filler to make the jars even. Once the candle holder is in place, put the candle in the votive holder and then tie a ribbon around the canning jar. What you’ll have is a great homemade jar candle. You may either give your jar candles as gifts or keep them around your own home. Either way, you’ll feel proud that you created something so beautiful. The last type of candle, one that is growing in popularity, is the tart candle. This is a very small candle that doesn’t have a wick. It’s melted to release its scent. Pillar candles are very popular. These candles are usually scented. They are thicker and are usually used to create a nice relaxing or romantic atmosphere. Pillar candles are also the type of candle that is engraved for special occasions such as a wedding. Floating candles are used to create a beautiful scene. They’re usually used as centerpieces. The first thing you’ll have to do is go to a store that carries art supplies. You will need to buy candle making wax, candle wicks, and scents and colors of your choice. You’ll also need a thermometer, a wooden spoon, a stove, and a double boiler to make your own candles. Once you have all your supplies, you’re ready to begin making your own wax candles. Take the wax you bought and break it into small pieces. Then heat water in the double boiler and throw the broken wax into the water. Be sure the wax reaches a temperature of at least 160 degrees. Stir the candle wax and then add whatever coloring you want your candles to be. After the coloring, add in a scent of your choice. Make sure the wax remains at least 160 degrees while your adding in the coloring and scent. Next cut the wicks to whatever length you would like your candles to be. Then dip the wicks into the wax. Take the candle wick out and allow it to cool. Then dip it back into the wax and take it back out again. Continue this process until your candle is the length you want it to be. Once the wax cools for the final time, you can then cut and scrap away the excess wax. The end result will be a homemade candle that you can enjoy. Taper candles are almost always placed in candle holders. These are the candles that you see on dining room tables. They are primarily used to create soft lighting. They burn slowly and last a long time. There is also a wide variety of fruit scented candles that you can buy. Some of the more popular fruit scents are apple, melon, and citrus. No matter what you want a candle for, you are certain to find it with today’s ever-growing candle selection. Fantasy is another line of scents that are great to smell while taking a bath and relaxing. These scents include ocean breeze, rain, and a variety of tropical fragrances. Gel candles are very similar to wax candles but they are made of gel. They come inside a jar or container. Container candles or jar candles are a little more expensive than most other candles. They are designed to give out a strong scent. One jar candle can make an entire room in a house smell good.
